It is Vélaborg's policy that the safety of employees comes first and that our operations cause no harm to the environment.
The policy
It is Vélaborg's policy that the safety of employees is a priority. The same applies to everyone else involved in the company's operations, including contractors' employees, visitors and others.
It is also the company's policy that its operations cause no harm to the environment.
Employees shall at all times work in accordance with the relevant procedures, laws and regulations on safety and environmental protection. Employees shall protect themselves, their colleagues, passengers, goods entrusted to the company, equipment and the environment from harm.
Main objectives
- That working conditions are safe and healthy
- That operations comply with national law, international rules and conventions and other applicable recognised standards and benchmarks
Measures
These objectives are to be achieved through the following measures:
- Defining and practising responses to identified hazards
- Promoting safe working methods and a safe working environment
- Maintaining safety awareness, self-discipline and a sense of responsibility through a structured and documented training system
- Improving employees' safety competence through education and training
- Keeping employees informed of operational risks affecting themselves, their colleagues and/or the environment
- Ensuring that documented procedures match actual working practice through internal reviews and monitoring
- Monitoring the laws, regulations, standards and recognised benchmarks that apply to the company's operations and ensuring compliance with them
